EAR SETBACK

Ear Setback

Prominent ears impair a person’s confidence. This is aggravated by the constant teasing endured during childhood. Many with “bat ears ” try to disguise their ears by growing their hair long, however, this is seldom successful and also limits the hairstyles available.

A relatively simple operation can correct this problem and lead to a decrease in anxiety and improved self-confidence. In adults, it can be performed as a simple procedure under local anaesthetic, although children will usually need a general anaesthetic. It is not a particularly painful operation

A bandage worn around the head for a week adds to comfort and protects the ears -particularly during sleep.
